2008 sports bar

Postby hman on Sun, 16 Oct 2016 6:19 +0000

Hi All,

I have a 2008 sport bar on my SR5.
My question is, can I separate the angled part of the bar and just leave the section which is directly behind the window.
The angle bar makes it so hard to access my tool boxes.
I have a rear ladder bar above the tailgate.
My sports bar comes in 2 sections with 4 bolts holding them together and 2 caps to cover the bolts.
thanks.

Yes you can. I bought another bar and just used straight section and mounted it to rear of tray and have used as a rack system for ladders.

I don't see why an angle grinder would have too much issue separating them. Im assuming you're using the section you wanna keep for spotties or something?

The bar adds nothing to the vehicles safety in a rollover, it's there for pure show considering it's attached with 4 little grub screws so feel free to do what you want with it.
