Roll n Lock Tonneau or Hard Lid

Hey guys,

I am looking at purchasing the Roll N Lock tonneau cover, has anyone had good or bad experiences with the Roll N Lock's?

Really want it to be waterproof also

good question, I ordered my new model hilux with the Roll N Lock but I hear they are not water proof, I like to have full access/use of the bed hence thought Roll N Lock rather than hard lid....

Yeah, I really like the roll n lock...but I too have heard they are not fully waterproof...they are a lot of money and it would give me the shits if water keeps getting in

NZ have a couple of lids available which are great but shipping is huge..

No guarantee hard covers are water proof either unless you're prepared to put some work into them.

+1 to the Hard Lid not being waterproof. Have a 2015 SR5 Dual Cab with Toyota hard Lid and water/rain gets into the tub through the lid and also to a small extent via the tail gate. Haven't had the time to investigate a good solution but it does appear as though the water comes in mainly where the two hinges are on the lid and placing some extra rubber/waterproof foam from somewhere like Clark Rubber etc (as some have done on this forum) would resolve a lot of the water entering the tub.

There are two main roller lids when I looked - Mountain Top and Roll N Lock. One has the ability to mount roof racks on the side of the rear tub that are made by roller lid company while the other design has the ability to add "fancy" tray dividers to stop tuff rolling to the back of the tub if you think that's a need.

I`m considering Roll N Lock over the Mountain Top as there is a video on the mountain top that shows due to the rubber hinge design its very easy to break into!
Up to now my vote is with Roll N Lock knowing its not 100% water proof. For the application I like to use it I don`t need it to be 100% water proof anyway as long as the tub does not flood and leaks from tail gate corners...I`m happy.

got in touch with the Mountain Top and they are aware of the issue and are working to improve it but not corrected yet so the available model in the market still has the issue.
Roll N Lock is manufacturing a new model to suite the Gen 8 Hilux and will be out very soon.
