Front Tray/Tub Bolts

Postby ben_bass69 on Wed, 09 Mar 2016 10:35 +0000

On the front tray/tub mount (2009 Hilux) what size is the bolt? Also is it a captive nut or will it come off?

Trying to work out bolts to lift the tray up 3", the middle and rear bolts will be 120mm but the fronts look a lot more difficult to get into...

Hey Mate,
I was able to use the stock bolts from the rear mounts on the front mount when fitting my tray, they are that little bit longer and fit straight into the thread, by memory they are M10 high tensile but that's by memory, you will have to measure it to be sure.

I used a ratchet spanners to get to the bolt, was a lot easier that any other method i tried.

Sorry forgot to mention,
Its a fixed nut, and you may be able to grind it off to lift up the tray the extra 3'

Cheers mate, I think my mate must've used different rear bolts when he built my tray, they're only about 40-45mm long, so if I buy the M10x120mmx1.5 they should fit those nuts?

No Worries,

i messaged you in regards to some of the issues you may face depending on the tray design and mounts.
If you have a bolt in that mount/nut at the moment it would be safer to pull it out and measure it or even bring it in to your local nuts and bolts shop.

Cheers,
John
