Well I'm currently seriuosly looking into doing this. Been emailing a few wreckers to hunt down a cheap cruiser bonnet. Had a cruiser a at work today, had a bit of a look and look some measurements. Where i work is also a smash repair shop so should be fairly easy to do if I find a bonnet cheap enough.

Yer im so keen. I tracked down the bloke who owns the one above aha but he isn't too keen to chat

Well that's nice of him! If I do go ahead with it I'll be sure to put plenty of pics etc 8 my build thread.

We put one of these on the daughters ute - not quite as clean (or expensive) as cutting and grafting a steel bonnet panel as originally depicted. The results are:

We used a piece of aluminium mesh painted white from Supercheap and urethaned over the existing bonnet hole to break up the gap left by the front mount intercooler. All up not a bad look.

A lot lot lot more money, time and effort than I thought it would be boys especially making the depth of the plastic scoop insert fit without destroying the framework underneath and still maintaining good airflow to the intercooler (it's just so thick in height compared to the overall thickness of the hilux bonnet once ya open it up...too late now for first bonnet lol) it's now all ducted to function as it should ie: sealed unit to the intercooler, 2 bonnets later and a shit load of panel bashing, brain bashing and welding underneath as well as the top skin and she looks bloody awesome and functions and seals to the intercooler just as good as the stock unit....almost starting to wish I'd seen that post above for the fibreglass scoops though before I started 2 weeks ago lol.....few teasers here for yas to enjoy....getting painted on Friday for fitment back on over the weekend....





Will do a full write up once I get around to sorting out my buildup with all the other homemade mods lol
