Replacing the tray for a tub

Hi guys,

I just bought my first hilux, it's a SR dual cab 2011 model, diesel.

It currently has a tray on it and I want to replace it for a tub.

What year tubs are suitable for me to pick up second hand and put on my hilux? And is there anything else I should be aware about?

Cheers guys!

Hi Anguski,
Just call up some alloy tray suppliers/installers in your area as they usually have access to tubs of various models on hand from when they install trays.
Most people don't want the tubs.
They usually have the lights and mudflaps still in place.
You will also have to most likely play around with the fuel hose to refit it to the tub.
You will also find them on Ebay and Gumtree.
Good hunting..
Cheers.

Anything from 05 onwards will fit, it was only the taillights that changed.

If you can get an SR5 grab one - much better with single access point on tail gate and cleaner look too.

Not sure how you went with this, but I have a tub for sale. But the other thing you might want is I have the diesel goose neck from the tank that suits the tub. Let me know if need anything as I just did a changeover myself.

I had to run a cable through the vehicle for the fuel cap release.

Tubs have to be the most useless things around. we have the dealers rip them off before they leave the dealership if we can't buy the particular model we want in a cab chassis, as we put trays on every ute we own, so much more versatile & space gained in my opinion. Plus, repairing a tray is easier than a tub is something goes amiss.
