fixa, do take a look at the denso snorkel! I reckon it is a better snorkel than the Safari, I have one and am very happy with it, and think it is better than my mates Safari, so much so, he was tempted to get his panel work replaced and put a Denso on. I have attached a link to the Denso thread on here, take a look a few pages in at some of the examples, it is a much bigger ram head than the Safari.

Did you get an itemised breakdown of the quotes by chance?

Yep denso is the go. Had a safari on the last hilux and got a denso on the new one and the denso is a much better unit.

Snorkel preferences aside, I went to a heap of ARB stores for quotes (I travel a bit) and didn't get much difference in prices. They know they have good quality gear so they don't give you a whole lot of wiggle room.

I went with different gear but it sounds reasonable to me. Good luck!

Also I would say because you can simply print off the ARB recommended retail pricing, inclusive of fitment costs, so I guess they are not willing to stray too far from those prices.

There is bugger all room for a lot of the stores. Especially like the one I'm a fitter for, some of the big corporate stores can haggle a little but the stockists will just go by the book.

Bloody Toyota the thieves!

Called today to enquire about the Denso snorkel, $520 to buy, which is ok,, $540 to install!

No wonder they get a bad name "some" places anyway

That labour there is expensive and they're definitely a rip off. Perhaps buy the Denso snorkel and get someone else to fit it.

Agree mate :D

Already contacted my mechanic and wheels are in motion,,

Just gets under my skin how they can charge this, but worst of all get away with it %50 of the time!

maybe you should try a different dealer. i got my denso snorkel from my dealer for $595 (it was around this figure, i did a while ago so can't remember exactly) fitted at my dealer. on the invoice it showed $505 for the snorkel and the rest was labour

Mods can merge threads also*

This second price was including the front cross bar, where the first in other thread wasn't ,,
