Has anyone purchased this type of rack
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291088408425 ... 1423.l2649
i went to the store to have a look and was pleased at what i saw, and it only weighs around 20kg more then an rhino aluminum type.

Hey guys looking to put the same sort of set up on my roof for my early model 1997 hilux problem is it's a extra cab Dosnt have gutters and obviously can't use clamps been thinking of making up some brackets and bolting my cage straight onto the roof, wondering if anyone has done something like this .. Have asked at the 4x4 shop near mine and they can put the rails and stuff on the roof but looking at $700ish and was wanting to take a cheaper option as I've already blown the budget on repairs to the car.. Cheers

We rivited some Rhino racks brackets straight to the roof of my son SWB Pajjy.(no gutters).......you can get them in a very low profile 50 mm and they are more solid than my track mounts on the Lux
Cheers Richo

I bought a set for my 2008 SR about 2 months ago and am really unhappy with them. Really poorly designed, difficult to install (tube fouling mounting holes, etc) and already rusting after 2 months! See pictures... (too bad it's now bolted to the roof!)

Does anyone have a measurements/drawings where the airbag canisters are located? I'm thinking of installing roof racks in my MY12 and don't want to make a boo boo.

If you are installing a rhino rack they come with very good instructions.
You can download them from their site
Just place a drill stop at 5-6mm to prevent any drill punch thru
