Home Made Bash Plate

Postby aborak on Sat, 21 Sep 2013 9:42 +0000

I found a sheet of stainless steel laying around the house so i thought id design and make my own bash plate. Took me a few hours of work after i got it bent into shape. Its made from 3.5mm stainless steel. Whats everyone think?

Nice work!

Now you just need one to protect the front of that radiator.

I dont think i will for now mate, if i get time i mite go over it with a wire brush to get rid of some marks, but it is stainless steel so corrosion shouldnt be an issue.

The rectangular hole is to so i don't have to take it off when i change the oil, the fold is for so when it skids along sand/mud it wont scoop up as much crap up there as it would if it was a straight edge that's the idea anyways

I like that. gotta service mine in couple a hundred k,s so i,ll b adding that service point and save me some time in the future.

Probably could help stop a bit of suction if sitting in the mud too.

Looks good mate, the hole is a good idea with the flap bent up.

Looks good mate. What’d you use to bend the plate? Also how thick did you make it?
