hi all,

stupid question but would an SR5 tailgate fit on an SR tub?
i have a 2007 SR 2WD with damage to the tailgate. Should i just replace it with a standard SR one?

Buy an sr one. The latches are different and so is the body lines at the top.

yeah they latch different, it wouldnt work.

This Is my first post so here goes... Well my 07 SR Hilux had an incident with a rather large tree on the weekend so I am now needing to replace my tailgate, Has anyone fitted and SR5 tailgate to a SR tub? I am thinking I would certainly prefer the SR5 tailgate anyday over the SR and had it not been for the canopy and all my custom tub fit out i would simply replace the whole tub to the SR5 as there are plenty on the market going cheap..... Any one out there done this conversion?

The a and the j tubs are different. As for just the tail gate. I could not tell you.

Couldn't swap the canopy? Even of you need to buy different brackets?

im thinking of doing the same thing, SR5 tailgate on an SR tub.
from all the photos i have seen, all it looks like i need to change is the tailgate and the latches.
im trying to seal up my tailgate, and it looks like an SR5 tailgate would be easier to seal- easier if i could buy a Dry Gate Seal..
and i like the idea of a single handle.
need to find one soon though, i wanna do the central locking mod.

the sr5 tail gate fits the j deck sr tub.. all you need to do is flip the two latches on the tub 180degrees

you dont have to buy them just rotate your sr one
