Arb bullbar Foglights Problems

Postby svend on Sat, 08 Sep 2012 9:37 +0000

Any one here have a problem with there arb fog lights on new 2012 Hilux. Had mine for 2 months and they fell out on a recent trip to ningaloo. The design of the mounting system is crap and i think they'll fall out again. Any tips on how i can secure them properly.

I squeezed the tabs either side in and used some silicone around either side of them to keep them in place and they haven't moved at all. I think the mounting system is pretty dodgy too

the mounting system is ridiculous. I used a hot glue gun to make the knobs on the sides a bit larger so it fits in tight

Just fitted my deluxe bar and the only thing I had issues with was the OEM fog lights. They are crap and I held them in with cable ties. I will put some sika flex on them I think as I'm not confident.

No mine is a new bar which has the factory fog light cutouts so the SR5 fog lights can clip in. Dodgy set up if you ask me.Image

Just ordered new ARB Deluxe Bar and have been told of new part number and models just released.
Including new Fog light mount / housing + single integrated LED turn and parker lamp.

Fog lamp fits both OEM and 51W ARB PN: 3500590. Price is up a little as normal. 4 week turn around inc colour coding I have been told.

Looks like it has a plastic front over the fog lamp housing. Other than that they are the same bull bar for both Deluxe and Sahara.

How is it that everyone seems to know more about ARB's products then ARB? Got one of these deluxe bars and both ppl behind the desk said the std sr5 fog light wouldnt fit, so I forked out the $94 for their kit. After we finished installing it we realised the factory would fit but it was too late by then. Next time I was in there I told them that they would have fit and their response was "sometimes they do, sometimes they don't". Really? Now 3 weeks on the globe assembly has shit itself...shoulda kept the std ones that had been going fine for nearly 3 yrs
