Fender lining Grommet screws

Postby Hemmer on Sat, 10 Mar 2012 6:41 +0000

Hi
I am fitting up a snorkel but I have run into a small problem.
I am trying to remove the Fender lining and for the life of me I cannot get the lining grommets out. I have tried a flat head screw driver and tried pliers to pull them out but no joy.

I am wondering if it's worth attempting to preserve them or just cut the heads off and buy a new set of eBay?

Is there any one with advice on this. I have searched youTube high and low and looked up every sort of tutorial I could but no one seems to have a solution other than buy new ones.

Just cut them off and get new ones. When you replace them you can put them in first then screw the inner guard back up with screws and washers that way its easy to get it on and off in the future..

Cheers,

Chris.

Thanks guys. I'll cut them off and go with Chris's suggestion of screws and washers.

Tomorrow I start cutting the fender then. I've put the template on twice today and come up with 2 slightly different spots. Talk about nerves. lol

Looks like it will be 'measure 3 times, go with the closest 2 and then cut'.

Thanks Hemmer.
