hey guys, i am thinking of making up a stainless snorkel for my lux.
was just wondering what peoples thoughts on them are and if anyone else has done one and could provide some photos of what the finished product looks like on the hilux ?

Not too familiar with these but are there any real benefits (cons VA pros) when using these over the plastic safari ones?

how do the stainless ones go in wet weather? i read that in Rainy conditions the 'ram head' design funnels the water out the sides rather than down the snorkle...

also noted that the "millweld" snorkles cut alot of the quater panel to slim line the look alot, at least on the patrol ones, they do look nice though!

I assume your going to be using 316 stainless which isn't cheap, unless you have the tools to knock it up yourself I don't see the point? Your going to get someone to design and make it which would end up costing the same if not more than your genuine Safari or Denso.

In my opinion it looks cheap and inefficently designed.

Would look good all shined up but You'd be forever polishing it..
Most stainless ones I've seen the opening faces the rear and one garbage weld and looks average.. I hear they have a wicked induction noise tho

lol you dont have to pay people to do everything mate, bit of determination and ingenuity gets you places. you might even learn something if you tried something new
