2.7L petrol - Chugging/lawnmower sounds

Postby DBF93 on Tue, 06 Jun 2017 5:40 +0000

I recently had my 2002 2.7L petrol serviced and it came back completely fine. Then went on a beach drive on bribie island and washed my car when arriving home. As i have done many times before I give the engine bay a quick clean with a shower of water, barely any pressure.

The next day for work 6:00am relatively cold start, engine sounded fine/normal. After a few K's it started to make a lawnmower/chugging sound and the whole car started shaking as if it was going to stall. It did so for a couple of K's but then it soon starting getting better and better. So I thought it had sorted itself out. Not being mechanically minded I didn't think of anything.

Its been 2 days and The chugging sound is better, there is less. ONLY when accelerating 90kph -110.

What could be the issue? possibly water got in somewhere? something is clogged?

tried my best to explain what is going on

seems to be all okay at the moment, except when going up hills now and then she seems to struggle as if she was going to stall or not choking
