Warning/TSC flashing lights

Postby GD40 on Tue, 27 Sep 2016 4:17 +0000

Hi all,

I recently just bought and SR5 Hilux 150 SER 2010 model with a fair bit of work done it from ARB.

Everything has been fantastic on the car, and i believe a problem with the car started when i drove it through a fairly deep river crossing but got through ok.

After this (i think) the car struggled to start some times, it was like the battery was dead and it eventually started itself from the second battery in it. Last week the car started and the warning light came on, and then the VSC off light were flashing on the dash board.

I googled it, and played around with the fuel flap and cap a little bit and it seemed to go away for a few days but the car still struggled to start. The last time i went to drive it, the car wouldn't start for about 10-15 seconds and eventually kicked in and both the warning and VSC off lights were on.

Anyone know what the issue would be? Water damage? Who should i take it to? ARB, auto electrician or a mechanic?

Thanks for any help, I want to get the car back on the road asap!

Check your battery voltage... sometimes low voltages cause lights and stuff, also maybe starter motor on the way out... water kills them.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

Looks like a auto electrician with a scanner should be able to help you.. what accessories from ARB did you get done?

Hey guys thanks heaps for the info.

In terms of ARB stuff, i have all bar work w/ fogs, winch, spotties, aux battery redarc charger/isolato, air compressor and reversing camera. Theres more gear on it but nothing power/engine related.

Does anyone know a decent auto electrician around the Greensborough, Victoria area?

Thank you!!

Hey dave,

It's a diesel mate with a snorkel. I had a good look over everything and it all seemed to be fine. Althought the engine was quite dirty to the rest of the car but it should still be fine.
