Marks couldn't get the two ECU's to work together so abandoned it for the time being.
By off the shelf I mean buy the bits and fit it all over a couple of weeks, hoses, aircon, all plug and play. Like Marks 4WD do for Patrols.
You don't need Gm ecu if using 6l80e or if using 4l80e you can standalone or full manual valve body (4l80e only)
Main resion to import trans is cost
By the time you buy ls3,6l80e with full ecu harness, patrol transfer case and marks adaptors kits your 10-12k (8-9 eng&trans, 2k adaptor kit, 5-600 transfer case) before you even start buying all the little bits to install, so easy 15k before engineers and your engine has no warranty and 65-95k on it at least, and wiring harness will be a pain to install due to pre set lengths and no instructions
You import because, Gmh sell new crate for 7k with warranty, escalade 6l80e 2k imported, standard alone harness between 1-2k depending on brands psi cheaper, msd close to 2k
Prices are same 10-11k except new engine, easier wireing system, with instruction, no alarm and anti thrift starting issues, and all new, only old part is trans witch you would have had anyway
And if you do power upgrades down the line you can reprogram not need to pay 1k for dyno tune, as long as there within the permeates
