Just after peoples opinions and ideas as to what turbo is best suited to the 5L. CT20 is the obvious one but I was wondering what others have used (TD04, T25/28 etc) and the outcomes of it all.

Finally got my manifold and ready to start this project! Eeep!

I had a Borg Warner on mine, I will chase down the information for you, it was just a Denco diesel kit, I was very happy with it whilst I had the ute. Improved performance and economy, I had no dramas with reliability, had it tuned right and it had low egt's.

I like the gt2876 if you can supply it enough fuel
Each turbo will have its pros and cons
Bang for buck the ct20 is going to be hard to beat

Yeah every time I do look at it all, I keep leaning towards the CT20. Just cant seem to beat the price. And i know they can handle a pounding also. I use to have a 1983 single cab lux with a twin ct20 turbo 1jzgte in it. 14psi all day no probs. The garret T25 is my next pick but I will look up the gt2876 and see what the A/R differences are.

Cheers, Gents.

What about a ct26. Gt4 celica and mr2s run them. Iv heard that is a better option
Also I have heard of a guy running a td27 copy off a Nissan Terranno qd32

I'm running a TD04 turbo (DTS kit) and it seems perfect for the engine size (5LE).
