1kz-te 01-02 hilux changes

Hey just wondering the differences between 2001 & 2002 onwards 1kz-te 3.0 turbo diesel hiluxs, in terms of power. I have a 2001 turbo diesel, my dad has a 2003 turbo diesel and my mate has a 2004 model similar kms on all. And it seems the 2 newer luxes go a bit harder than mine.. They also have a more distinct turbo spool sound which mine doesn't do.. Any one know what the changes were that explain this? Thanks

In theory no difference. In reality, it's just how it is.
Some 1kz-te's suffer badly from overheating. Some just don't.

Is there any other mods? Exhaust? Snorkel? Weight? If the Turbo spool sound is louder, there may be exhaust or turbo upgrade?

Or like I said, may be just how it is. The tolerances in your engine have worn to greater than theirs.

Cheers mate, just rememberd the other 2 both have safari snorkels haha. Other then that all standard. This would a have somethibg to do with it aye?
