Recommended perth engine replacement mechanic?

Hi guys
For the w.a readers ...I have had one of our farm hilux Utes cook an engine had it fixed locally which cost a fortune ,got it back and it is gutless and has no compression.the ute is an 06 and in great nick bar the engine.Can anyone recommend a good place to send it for a possible new engine or recon in perth? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

that's a hard question mate. all of the large well known engine re-manufacturers only do a partial rebuild', not a proper ground up job and as a result sre short life engines of maybe typically 100k, I would suggest contacting Toyota dealer and enquiring there. but replacing a diesel engine with a reasonable rebuild csn cost up to 10 grand and still not give a long life. sad but true.

dont know if its worth anything but maybe see if you can find a hilux for sale with a reasonable condition d4d in it, buy it and transfer the motor across, could be a 4x2 as well, all you need is the motor
