Have you considered a remote filter setup? I would be wary of changing the size of the filter due to the cleaning ability may be affected???

I think u mean what is a remote filter setup?

Basically it's a remote filter head that allows you to mount the filter were you have got no clearence issues and can easily access it. It just has 2 oil lines running to it which are normally braided and any hose shop can make them to desired length.

Yes if you go a smaller filter it will clog up sooner then your z9 bit if you changed your oil more regularly you won't have that issue.

Is that a 2wd side plate? Don't all 4wd ones hold the filter on its side?

I have the same issue. I have used the shorter version but it was doscontinues so I had to go to a different filter.

I use the Z89A now (I think). I am not to worried about the filter being smaller because its changed every 5000km's - if it was left in for 10k I might have concerns.

The vehicle has been like this for 15 years now (thats how long I have owned it). I got lucky, I put a Z10 in and bashed it but did not pucture it fortunately.
