1kz 3.0TD Ticking noise from bottom of the motor?

Hi guys Ive had my 04 turbo diesel for about 5 months now.

I brought the car and this ticking was very faint but over the last 2 months its gotten a little louder.

Im a bit worried as the 1kz 3L (or maybe it was the 2.8L) was renound for spinning the big end over 200k

This ticking noise doesn't happen at idle it starts ticking at aprox 1200rpm and get louder and faster as the RPM rises. It happens on free rev and whilst driving (accel and decel)

defensively coming from bottom half of motor.

any ideas?

You can check the dip stick is not bent and hitting the crank, also pushed in, dented sump.

check your harmonic balancer is tight and the rubber is not busted on it also the key way is in good order, this comanly happens if the balancer has not been done up tight enough.

the 1kz was factory turbo, where as the 3l/5l were non turbo

my 04 T/D has thesame sort of clicking very noticeable when passing buildings and the like.
But i found it to be the clutch release bearing when i push my clutch in it goes away, try that might be it

Exactly what I was about to say. My 06 does it too. Mines a new clutch and bearing but I think its the clutch fork tapping on the bearing? If anyone has any ideas on how it fix it without dropping the box again would be good.
