gday guys im looking for a ute 4wd i have 10g to spend. which motor would best i do tow a trailer ever week or two and the rest is city/country driving. please help me out. i have had experiance with the 2.8 and 3L enguines and i know they are VERY SLOW but they arnt made for speed. thank you guys for your responce in helping me. 3td or 4.0 v6 if you don't want "very slow "

D4D all the way but at 10g I don't see it happening.
There are many older models getting around with v6's in them that are in that price range.

For 10g's mate, a 2.8 or 3L would be your only options

What do you tow?

n/a diesels are very slow, maybe look at an aftermarket turboe'd 2.8

I have a 1998 2.7, definitely much faster than a n/a diesel, would tow a small to medium trailer ok

I seriously doubt you could pick up a remotely decent 3td for under 15 grand

The 3.4v6 is smooth and has decent power but is quite thirsty, 16l/100+ and thats not even towing. Is also pretty spensive

How much would you say you are towing? The 2.7 efi were/still are a pretty powerful unit and you may be able to get them relatively cheap. Alternative if you wanted a 2.8 would be looking for one with an aftermarket turbo or put one on yourself
