Hi all quick question if anyone has come across 3.0L Diesel Turbo 1KDFTV cutting out while driving? Does not throw any fault codes and start back up straight away most of the time. Have even spoken to Toyota Australia and they can not shed any light on problem? It bloody dangerous when it happen and scares the shit out of me as I'm normally in traffic at 100 km's
Dont even want to think what may happen if i'm overtaking at the time

Do you have anymore info - any recent changes to the vehicle? Has it been serviced recently?

Sounds like a fuel supply issue though.

Hi hiluxxury
Done 150 km's full service done at 149 km's all fluids changed and filters fuel cam belt etc etc filter looked brand new Strange thing is you have to drive it for at least 30 minutes plus before it plays up. Yep going to pull pump out and replace it if i can not find a solution along with SCV. Just have a feeling its neither of these but i guess i have to start somewhere :( :(

Did this happen after the service?
Carefully inspect the fuel filter housing.
It must be seated precisely

As DB suggested, it might be pulling air in through the filter housing. Try reseating it.

I wouldnt say the pump is the issue, they are very reliable items. My guess is either contamination or air getting in the system.

Try using your spare key for a while, see if it still happens
I had an issue with mine not starting speradicly and it turned out to be a faulty key

Hi all just an up date for all out there.
After lots of voltage checking and maping and them waiting for stock to arrive turned out all along it was a fault in the throttle body! While its not a cheap fix the results are amazing up on power, all cut out problems gone no lag and runs so much better! Save yourself a lot of headaces and money just replace it if you are having the same problem as i had!
p.s. thanks for everyones input ;) ;) ;) ;)

That's great everything is resolved. Can you explain what was wrong with the throttle body?

From what we found was signal from throttle body was intermittenly lost to ecu so ecu was thinking engine was off is the best we can explain it. Maybe track problem with magnetic throttle switch or stepper motor spent enough time on it so replaced it now all good.

I am thinking mine may have a similar issue, i was driving along and what felt like it lost power for a second, then nothing when pressing the pedal, then resumed like nothing was wrong. It has not done it since, but will look into it closer now.

i had a deisel specialist check the numbers with techstream and the SCV and injector values were all in spec.
