Autometer - Mechanical Water Temp Sensor Install

G'day guys,

I recently installed a Auto Meter Water Temp Gauge with mechanical sender.
I am aware of the location in where the factory sensor is located, however the Auto meter fittings are larger.

I need some help in relation as to how i should proceed with connecting the sender.
- Is there another location that accommodates the thread type - Cant remember of top of memory (1/2NPT)
- Connect this to another location (piping - radiator etc)

I tried to search the forum however cannot find any specific information to help.
Apologies in advance if this has previously been discussed.

My water temp sender is installed in the top radiator line using an adapter pipe just have to cut some out of the soft line and fit
