I have now learnt that when towing, if you go too hard the temps will get to 105 degrees and it will automatically shut off the air con. The best thing to do is back off for a bit and it will cool down and come back on.

Aug 2019 I added oil into the viscous fan - there was none in there, and also gave the system a good flush and new coolant. It is still an issue, so it just seems to come back to how hard you drive it. My van is 2500kg. The whole car is still under GCM of 5030 though. I sit on 95kmph in 4th generally. Going up hills usually induces it.

Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that :lol: even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.
