Hi guys I have just got a 2013 1kd engine to swap out into my 06. I have both the injector driver and the engine ecm and looms to both but am wondering what else is needed before I start this swap. I've searched a around a bit but there's not to much info out there in relation to the immobiliser. Any help appreciated
Honestly mate, Far easier just to use all the chassis stuff already there (ECM, Driver...) and just change over the things required on the block. The looms are fairly different, it would be a fairly massive process.
Thanks for the advice I went with it. After a closer look the harnesses and sensors are different and the fuel rail on the later models have an extra sensor at the end. I have ended up swapping over my whole intake manifold as well as the fuel rail and complete harness. Basicly I am left with a new block a new turbo and fuel pump. I will also swap out the injectors too.
Picked up and NPC clutch so that will go on after the engine work is done.
So if anyone is keen on the swap out its not too hard just time consuming. Now I just have to finish it of and hope if starts.
Maybe something else to consider but not sure if it will be a problem is that the SCV on the pumps have changed as well. Unsure if your ECU can control it?
Yup cool, I have swapped out to my old injectors and yeah the only thing that worries me is the new pump with the longer scv but it's not hard to get to if I have to change it out.
Okay heres a few pics of the engines as you can see the later model is a busy looking mess but all that got replaced with my old 06 intake and fuel system.... yet to put in and start, that will be next week when im back from work.
