So what front mount intercooler did you go for?

i got one intercooler core from aeroflow
and got piping pre bent from exhaust shop, and silicone hoses from supercheap
tridon hose clamps made couple angle bracket from 3mm angle , that pick up radiator support and lower radiator support
basically copied HPD design and cross country 4x4
they do kits but were $1200 and do use PWR cores

all up cost 500 ish and a days work, and sold factory cooler on gummy for $80

Has anyone looked into or fitted a water to air intercooler set up ?

I have a 2016 SR5 lux auto TD
and I have a water to air set up in the shed ,not sure to Fit it or not

Make it fit and let us know! I've been wanting to make one for a while but and just waiting for the rite intercooler to come my way so I can jacket it, the rest of the system will be easy. Generally water to air is 10x more efficient the air to air!

450 x 300 fits well too
i used 90 degree silicone hose 3 inch to 2.5 straight off core worked out perfect to where you need to hole saw thru rad support, there are cutouts already in rad support just to small
one 90 degre pipe straight off turb with approx 200mm either side 2inch to silicone joiner straight
to 35deg pipe 2inch with 200mm each side to silicone joiner
to 2inch pipe flared to 2.5 exhaust shop will do this, this protrudes thru rad support to 90 degree silicone hose on core drivers side
then core
passenger side of core i used two 90 degree bends 2.5 inch welded goes thru rad support from 90 degree silicone hose
over battery, then 3 inch sillicone hose with ithink 35 or 45 degree corner (super cheap)about 150mm or 200 each side or bend to straight tube only 120mm long with m15? i think nut welded in for temp sensor then
clamped to standard intake throttle body with originall factory joiner to where top mount inter cooler used to feed into.
ill try to put pics up never done it before but ill try

Hi guys, Iv tried searching everywhere but can't find any actual user reviews of the Legendex Bad boy intercooler. I'm looking at upgrading the stock cooler and would prefer to keep everything in the stock locatation. Anyone on here running one of these? Plenty of ppl saying they would be bad Cos of heatsoak but can't really see this being an issue as I'm not gunna be doing any hardcore off-roading and if the cars moving there should be plenty of airflow coming through. Any info greatly appreciated.Cheers

Do you run more power through your car? If not you would be best spending that $1500 else where as it won't benefit you at all. They aren't a good product for the price you pay as well.

Iv got an sw chip and manta 3" exhaust and snorkel, thought bigger cooler would be the next step to get a bit more out the engine. I use it to tow motorbikes and do a bit of beach driving but nothing crazy

To be honest that stock cooler will handle around 180hp all day. It's money not wisely spent to be honest. Plus if you are going to spend serious money spend it on getting it tuned or a clutch.

ah yeah, its only got 60,000 on the clock so il prob wait a bit more before changing clutch. The chip goes good for now, thought the intercooler would be a good next step so that its there if i wanna do more work on it down the line. Whats the go with the clutches on em? not so great stock?

If you start going into the 200+hp range just go front mount. Standard clutches are generally weak and start slipping as soon as you start adding power. But I am sure you will find that out soon enough

I recently bought and fitted one of these although not from that seller but pretty much exactly same and roughly same price and it works a treat. Mind you my old intercooler leaked where the plastic joined metal so I wanted something full alloy


Looks nice and seems good quality too. I can't say I've noticed anything power wise but hey it won't leak!

Speed if it's better cooling and it should have more low toque and pick up if it's better flow

Looks great, where does the water cooling go and where from?

Presume that the plastic cowl still fits (a-la OEM)?

Actually now that you mention it right after I put it on I went for a spin and interestingly when I put my foot down my temps dropped a little- so one would assume it's doing its job

It was all bolt off and bolt on so works like the original intercooler.

The plastic cowl does indeed fit on I've just left it off since installation.
