Any ideas - Engine Missing & Engine Light

Towing my boat home last night we came into a town and slowed down for an intersection, resuming acceleration it started missing, only running on 2 cylinders, i limped into a car park andtried reving it without a load then turned the motor off and got out and had a look under the bonnet, gave the vmn a bit of wiggle and made sure nothing had come loose.everything seemed to be secure, started motor and she was running on all 4 again although the engine management light was on, everything sounded sweet norattles or odd noises so we drove another 120kms home and it never missed a beat, could this be crook injectors or something a miss with the vmn?

Whens the last time the fuel filter was done?

only about 5000kms ago, funny thing there is no engine light on today does any one know if you just pull the plug out of the vmn module will it run standard ecu

I think maybe just a loose connection, engine light should go off after several starts. Or disconnect battery and let it sit for a sec. If it doesnt then use a scangauge or OBD reader to see error code.
