Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone could help with downloading the Mini VCI drivers for Windows as just bought the pack but my laptop couldn't read the CD supplied. Unfortunately, I am unable to find/download the MVCI drivers online so far :(
Have Installed Techstream v 13.10.019 and successfully registered it.
Using Windows 7 64bit.

Thanks alot.
Cheers

Hey guys,

Can anyone direct me to installing techstream on a Windows 8 or even Windows 10. I bought a mini VCI cable from eBay and didn't realise there wasn't a CD for the software so now I had to download a techstream from the internet but I can't get it to connect to the vehicle.

I thought I saw a thread on this site detailing on how to get techstream to work on windows 10?

Thanks.

This is what I have done:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to ... s.1034923/

I have done similar for BMW, VW and Volvo software. It works a treat... I really should put up a virtualbox system preinstalled with techstream on dropbox or similar.

hiluxxury YOU ARE A LEGENDD!!

Thanks mate it worked a charm.

Now I need to learn how to use it so I don't mess anything up.

I was looking at the Freeze Frame Data when the DTC P0400 was logged and not sure what I am supposed to be looking at.

I'll have to learn how to save the data and post on here for you guys to give me a hand.

Anyway, very amazing stuff.

Will be looking at it some more after work tomorrow.

Cheers again hiluxxry would love to buy you a beer mate :D

MrMoose, the pdf I pointed to gives the expected values as does the techstream data link here. If you read the first 2 pages in this thread it will give you some examples and comments by someone who knows ;)

That would be great hiluxxury, then I can pension-off my ancient laptop with a dud battery

MrMoose, did you check out that resistor EGR solution I posted in your original thread? That may save you from trashing your Hilux for a small investment. I haven't tried it but I know it works on a jeep. It switches off the entire EGR system. $20 might save you from a large headache and if you let us all know the outcome it would be a great help to all of us.

Hey Gipsy,

I have checked it out but I'm still not sure if I want to go that route. I am the kind of person that likes to keep everything original from manufacturer the way it was meant. I really don't like to mess around with shutting down the EGR or blank plates for that matter or modifying anything to with the engine.

But if all else fails you can bet I'll be buying that resistor real quick.

For now I will try everything I can to get this code from reappearing and if I can't get it to disappear will try that resistor thingy.

Cheers.

how do you guys export the data. I managed to print to XPS a few times but this is buggy and converting that to text is also a pita.

Having an issue with my 2005 Hilux thats detailed over in this thread
viewtopic.php?f=81&t=32525

Main question is, does anyone know why the actual SVC, EGR and other data points might be missing? I have all the target ones but not actual. I havent worried about entering the VIN, and it automatically picked my vehicle up as a 2004. That might be it?

Might because your vehicle is the euro3 model. There are several parameters for the EGR, which one are you missing?

This thread will provide you some comparison data:
viewtopic.php?f=81&t=20228

I remember now that mine had a miss at idle.. everything else was running fine. I suggest that unless the other parameters are out or you are using excessive fuel, i would leave it. You could spend a lot of time and bother chasing this.

The things to look for as the target and actual SCV pressure (psi), the injector feedback values, the maf and map readings against the reference values. You'll get a good feel from reading the thread that I've linked. The euro3 models are easier to diagnose than the euro4, its less sensitive to egr problems.
