can anyone tell me if these things can be updated. if you have a techsteeam vci which comes with one lot of software, can you update the software using the same vci connector or do you need to buy a new connector each time you upgrade the software.
cheers.

Is it possible to find and/or export Parameter ID's for each item in Techstream?

If by software you mean Techstream, then yes, it can be updated/upgraded without having to buy a new cable each time. Drivers or firmware is another story. These cables are mass-produced by multiple manufacturers who don't offer aftermarket support. You're better off buying a new cable then to wait for driver or firmware updates.

If any one is interested I can get the Toyota Intelligent Tester II for $360, cool thing with this one is that all the workshop manual tests relate to this device. You can code and programme keys, injectors and initial all systems. PM if you want to get onto one.....

I just bought the kit and couldn't load the cable driver, the techstream was also asking for a key. I messaged the seller and they told me the software doesn't work with windows 8 and advised to use XP. Logging into my ute was one of the reasons I just bought a new laptop, the other is XP is no longer supported.
Any ideas

I bought a kit couple years ago and used it on an xp Remote Desktop.
Now a couple of months ago I found out the new kits support windows 8. Purchased a new kit which specifically said it would work on windows 8, installed it without a problem.

So it sounds like you've bought an old kit.

Give that a try for the cable. Worked for me on Windows 7 64-bit.

You can also run XP on your Windows 8 PC using a virtual drive like VMware. That's what I do but I may splash out on a 64bit version of Techstream if there is one available.

Hey guys has anyone had trouble getting the complete data list to display? I bought the 64bit version with the clear vci and techstream 10.10.018, got it to connect, read and write no worries on win7 64 but just can't get the complete data list, and what does display doesn't look accurate. I have also tried 10.10.018 and 10.20.030 on a 32 bit computer running Vista and still have the same issue
Has anyone come across this before? 2014 1kd sr5

Yeah looks to be the same thing, I got mine off ebay though and paid a bit more for the 64bit software
Probably a waste of money but saved stuffing around with it
No doubt the dearer ones will work better but they do the job

I'm working now on Win7 32bits the toyota-techstream-10.30.029 software doesn't seem to work, requires registrations etc.

Can't read the CD, will now download the 10.10.018 from above to see if that will work.

this should do,
http://www.autoprofessionals.org/showth ... p?tid=3215

my 10.30.029 version was ok only the readme was missing :)

--addition--
got the software working but not yet working in the car. "Connection couldn't be made"
