I used a 3/8ths single hex socket a small extension then a uni joint and a few long extensions and got it from under the car, also good luck removin the manifold and pulling the whole lot out there isnt enough sideways space from the turbo to the strut tower to get it to clear the manifols studs with the turbo bolted up. Its a mission to gwt the turbo out with everything undone

Would be great to not have to remove it at all. I was using a 1/2 and 1/4 drive sets today, might just make the difference

I had to use a deep socket to clear the stud and get it so seat all the way home but once its on it wasnt to bad to crack just needed excessive force and a lot of swearing

I got it off today, die ground the rounded nut down to start to see the thread just popping through and then chiseled it open. Thread was undamaged, really happy!

You'll need a uni joint, wobble bar, some extensions and a hexagonal socket for the win. I also used the new sockets designed to remove seized bolts with great results.

just did mine DP the other day, and found the rattle gun was a big help, the only other nut on the hilux to give me worse grief was the front diff drain plug, holy S**T it didnt want to move, finally got it out after using every tool I owned.

Having the same issue at the minute just wondering which penetrative spray you guys found to be the best ive tried a wd 40 brand, applying heat doing it all by hand any other tips would be appreciated

Do you have an impact wrench?
