Dual Fuel in a 4L V6

Postby czechdave on Wed, 20 Jun 2012 10:40 +0000

G'day fellas,
I have the 1gr engine and i do alot of k's during the week. The 4L is a pretty thirsty motor, especially running the 33's.
Has anyone put their V6 on gas? Id be interestd in performance and consumption.

Dave.

Dual Fuel in a 4L V6

Bought my 05 sr5 with impco brc system. Its injected with a donut tank where the spare is.

I get around 360 Kim's out of 60-65l of gas. It has 72l useable gas. That's mainly 50ks each day to and from work city driving. On the highway I'd probably get 410l. (That's on 32s with factory gearing)

From an everyday perspective. It goes just as hard on gas compared to petrol. I do a Melbourne Sydney run about once a month and trip every second month or so. I find that it if gas is cheaper than 69 cents a litre it's just as cheap as my old zx9 to run.

Ok so thats working out about 18.5l/100k's roughly
Im on factory gearing also so i guess if i was to re-gear on the 33's id get better economy. At the moment on petrol im getting just under 15l/100 and doing roughly 700-800k's a week, its a fair wack on the finances.
