bummer, I can't come up with anywhere to put the gauges other than on the dash and I am not interested in drilling and bolting the dash in a near new car. :(

Redarc has finally got itself sorted with the autron guages and rebranded them.

Really been wanting to get that second gauge!

Agreed, awesome looking gauges but not worth the price. Was having a play with the display stand at ARB the other week, the do have a noticeable delay in reaction though

I just put in a Redarc EGT , Boost and Water temp gauge. Love the gauge. I have some criticisms but they are small. I love being able to see water temp and EGT. Not so interested in boost.

A must have if you are towing IMO. I will get their oil pressure one next.

i got a couple of the redarc gauges installed in my lux today, come up pretty good
Image
the top one is coolant temp, oil temp and auto trans temp, the bottom is egt and boost.
fro the auto trans i just got the standard sensor removed and taped up and the redarc sensor put in its place, drove home and had no dramas with the trans and no fault codes or light so it seems ok.
what is everyone else seeing for trans temps? mine just on the drive home was sitting at 95 degrees and taking off hard from the lights saw it hit 100 briefly. is this normal or am i going to have to get a trans cooler? im running 33's with 4.11 diff gears.
also what have people been setting there warnings at?

Hi FR. Nice gauges.
A few threads on transmission temps. The auto transmission cooler size thread is a good one.
Consensus seems to indicate 80-90º is optimal. You could set your trans gauge warning to 110ºC or 100 if on the conservative side.
Get that trans cooler in if you want to hit the tracks loaded up in the summer ;)

Hi I'm wondering what fitting you used to fit the egt in the dump pipe? I've got the torqit exhaust and had to put 2 fittings together to make it work, and now I think the probe isn't far enough in the dump pipe and giving me false readings. My dump pipe has an 18mm plug, then a female 1/8npt fitting, then the male to male screwed into that

I've got a redback exhaust, it had 2 1/8th bungs in the dump pipe already, one I'm using for the unichip the other is for the gauges

Cheers I'll have a read of that thread, I checked the sensor calibration this morning and it's accurate, so it looks like a trans cooler is next on the to do list

fitted a trans cooler this morning and now its sweet, the max temp i seen in traffic (stop/start) was 83 degrees, so ive dropped more than 20 degrees with the trans cooler, and on the freeway with it locked at 100kmh it sits at 70.

i also talked to a mechanic at toyota today and he confirmed that the stock trans temp sensor just runs the temp warning light in the dash, so if youre looking for an easy place to pick up trans fluid temp, just remove the stock sensor tape it up out of the way and fit your new sensor into the factory spot

Nice job FR.
Can also fit a sensor to an inline brass fitting on either the input or output the trans cooler hose - which ever temp you want to monitor and keep the factory warning light - I read on one of the threads that that is set around 115-130C.

Has anyone used these autotechnica gauges?
I would like boost, pyro & oil pressure but if I could combine all that in to 2 gauges it would be better than 3.
I know autron do digital ones but they're way out of my price range.

DUAL GAUGE PERFORMANCE WATER TEMP OIL PRESSURE 60MM ANALOG

hey fracturedranga where did you get the redarc mounts?
It doesn't affect the airbags?

I've had two autotechnica and now on my second SaaS boost guage, I think they must get oily crud from the intake in them. Now that I've restricted the egr and have a catch can I'm looking at getting a redarc egt/boost guage, what's people thoughts on the third option in the guage oil or water temp??

digging up an old thread because I'm considering a pillar mount for gauges....but.....side airbags....anyway through all the threads i've read i haven't seen any videos....so youtube to the rescue

watching the side impact and the airbag deploying it doesn't even look like the A pillar budges.

Nice find on youtube, might be worth a call to your insurance company to check?

What mounts did this guy use to mount the gauges?

Is this the only option for an A pillar gauge pod now that autron don't sell them any more?
http://4x4concepts.com.au/index.php/categories/toyota/toyota-hilux-aft-05/product/129-toyota-hilux-aft-05-triple-pillar-pod-painted

Has anyone bought one of these?
Are they any good?

I'm using the 4x4 concepts pillar pod, I rang them and was told they don't effect airbag deployment although I don't know if they've done any testing. It's pretty thin plastic and goes over the top of your original pillar trim, the fit is really good and I haven't had any problems with mine
