Hi
Seems I misread my own fault codes , I have P2006 and not P2008 .
Correct me if I'm wrong but p2006 is intake runners stuck and P 2008 is circuit open
Is there a toyota protocol for P 2006

Dave

Had the vehicle back 10 days and after really giving it a flogging, limp mode has stopped. The solution was a combination of things

Inlet manifold removed and was sent away to be pressure cleaned
Removed and replaced with new EGR valve assembly and gaskets
Replaced all vacuum lines to EGR VSV
Removed and replaced with new MAF sensor in air box
Replace air filter (I had an air filter from taipan exhaust)

So far so good. Towed the van and no issues.

Ok. I have merged a pile of the same threads on the P2008 error code together.

Please read again from the start of this thread about the issues and resolutions people have had with P2008.

Did you end up getting the intake cleaned entirely?

No I didn't as I sent it too a diesel specialist Gemini diesel and they dyno it and tried to get it too fault and nothing would happen all the test said everything was opening and closing when they should he said unless it gets worse or I can get it to him with the engine light on so they can trace it. But as soon as the key is turned off and back on the light and problem goes!!!! So no I have not had the intake cleaned as yet. Do you think it's a starting point? Or I have te thought it might be the sensor in the air intake? Would like to swap with another that is fine but this problem does not seem to be a straight forward fix

Toyota won't sell you the SCV by itself. I was told you can't change the SCV, you need a new fuel pump. Try a Denso agent. My SCV was $118 plus gst and freight from a local diesel repair shop bought in from Denso Australia.
