What tune is the chip running?
You might have to back off the tune a little...

Could it be possible that the chip module itself is faulty...

Well yes you would think so, but if your getting limp mode issues on all the tunes, than I would suggest there is a problem with either the chip or your vehicle...

Have a look at the discussion down the bottom of this page, about a fuel pump mod.

It's not a fuel pump mod, it is simply a spacer that's placed at the end of the common rail where the sensor is which increases rail pressure which is supposed to stop the limp mode issues occurring...

the light may need to be cleared with a scan tool...usually the light stays on if it needs to be cleared tho

Hi All,
Just got back from my Christmas holidays and I too am having similar issues.

I have a 2011 HIlux SR5 Auto and had my Chip It installed 3 or 4 months ago by a Chip It Installer.

The problem we are having is it going into limp mode. It happens when driving with Cruise Control on and most often going down hill. It has happened 4 in the last two weeks, 3 of those last night. The car starts to slow immediately when 3 lights come on; The vehicle stability light starts flashing, the traction control light is on solid and the engine light is also on solid.

The only way I can clear this is to disconnect the battery and wait 5 or 10 mins and then reconnect and it seems to be ok for a short while, however this is not desirable at 1.00am in the morning on the side of a freeway with a car full of kids, dogs and luggage.

The chip is on standard setting the way it was installed. It is very unusual and quite disappointing it has only lasted 3 or 4 months. I have tried calling Robert from Chip It this morning however have not been able to get through to him yet.

I will be asking for a replacement chip or refund. I didnt spend $1500 on a chip to be left sitting on the side of the road. The first time it occured my wife was driving alone, 2 hours from home and was stuck for hours before I could tell her what to do, she was not impressed having to disconnect the battery etc. The power is great but not worth the inconvenience.

We will keep you posted once we have heard from Chip It.

Ive been having issues too but Not as serious as above.

I would be driving and all of a sudden i will feel a massive lost of power and by then i see the engine light on. But if turn the ign off then start the car again it would drive normally but the light will still be on. The engine light will turn it self off after a coulpe of days... Very fustrating.

Ive spoken to rob and he reckons it's could be the connection/plugs that are loose. Since then ive changed them with brand new ones and it still goes on limp mode once in a while.

Would like to hear more feed back on this matter from our members.
