Postby BradB on Tue, 08 Nov 2011 10:02 +0000

Have a read of this topic... viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5723
or search "engine smoke when parked down hill" and see if it sounds like a familiar story.

Good luck...

Thanks Stevo,

It was parked at an angle and hasn't done it since, I'll see how it goes. Seems strange though.

Cheers Brad.

I'd be getting it checked out asap. The injector seats/seals may be buggered.

That's exactly what mine did a few hundred kms before it seized.

I have been suffering from the same issue in my hilux, I have worked out that there is oil vapour getting sucked out the top of the rocker cover, it is then getting sucked down to the turbo, where it is vapourised and collects in the intercooler, from there over night is draining out the intercooler and in to the inlet tract....

Im now on the search for an Oil catch can that will work with our hilux.... i did see a thread earlyer this week regarding one.... better look it up
