Thanks heaps very handy links!!
Have cleaned the one at the air filter before but never the one under the intercooler will do it today, I put a screw in the vacuume line after the one way valve before the egr and it made a hell of a difference performance wise. Will also do a reset and see if it faults out again.
It has only be faulting over 100klms and up hill if that does not sort it I guess it's time to clean the egr and inlet manifold!!

Hi all

i recently had the same problem with my Lux. 3.0 D4d 2010 Vigo. everytime i speed up to 160km/hr, check engine light came on and vsc off indicator goes on and vsc light blinks, car goes to limp mode. I dont have chip installed, yet. I only get rid off my cat and muffler, got it replaced with a straight through pipe.

as from what others experience, i thought it could be the MAF sensor being dirty. so got the CRC MAF cleaner and cleaned my MAF. but the problem still exist. so when i did a lot of researching, i just realised that people who had this same problem had done something with the exhaust as the check engine light is something to do with emission thing.

Im currently away from home for a week so cant do anything bout it at the moment. but once im back home, i might want to install back my cat and take it from there. Hope this will solve the problem :) :)

Check the intercooler is getting sufficient air flow thru it , if it's blocked up with debris then the intake temps skyrocket making it log P 2006/8 quicker

Don't know if this would help but this is your error code from the service manual.

Need help have done all of the above. Drove to coffs from Sydney, car ran perfect, no faults. Driving back today chech engine light has been coming on again up hills around the 110 km mark. Need help, any advice. Could this be a fuel temp sensor problem as on the way up it was night whereas heading back today quiet warm?

Don't know what code as yet as still driving back to Sydney. Check engine light and limp mode, same as before. Any thoughts.

p2008

Postby rainman0210 on Sat, 14 Dec 2013 12:57 +0000

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and have already found it to be very informative....as the subject title says i too have had this error code come up just a couple days ago. Under much the same conditions as previous threads have described..after looking through the past threads i couldn't actually find any solution to the problem, only read alot of diagnosing and suggestions of what might be the problem. So could those of you who have experienced this problem and actually had it fixed please let me know what it was?...I'd really appreciate it.

Regards
Ryan

If you haven't cleared the code and you don't have a scan tool, disconnect the battery for 2 or so min to reset everything that should clear it.. And see if it comes back

nah didnt disconnect the battery, was told by reputable diesel mechanic to just cycle the key as in turn off then back on and it will get out of limp mode as the problem only becomes a problem at higher revs in 3rd gear, highway driving, and that the fix will be cleaning the intake manifold and if that doesn't fix it it'll be the solenoid thing that opperates the butterflies inside the intake or something like that...since then i have turned the steinbauer chip back to 12 o'clock ( was at about 2 o'clock), cleaned the MAF sensor with CRC MAF sensor cleaner and replaced the oil type K&N air filter with a ryco paper filter....the K&N filter was gunked up with black tacky crud...held it to about 140klm/h and no dramas....i think the K&N filter and the MAF sensor being dirty had alot to do with it. I will turn the chip back to 2 o'clock after we get through our fraser trip and see how it goes....Like my uncle says "if it was meant to have all this aftermarket boosted up dial it up shit on it, it woulda came like that from the factory" ..now i'm starting to think the same way..thanks for your concern swinny.
