I have a 2008 Toyota hilux SR 4x4 3.0 TD... started it up this morning and came up with a fault code on my scangauge 'P0048' Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control 'A' Circuit High"
turbo sounded like it was whining on start up and also wouldnt rev over 2000rpm.. I tried clearing the code and it just came back up straight away several times.. Even tried disconnecting battery... still no luck.!!
Has any one else had this code and what did you do or can you do to fix it...

Posted: Wed, 13 Aug 2014 8:03 +0000There have been cases when the wire has broken in the wiring loom that goes to the stepper motor. Normally around the front left of the sump when the wire loom sometimes touches the sump. And sometimes the wire will brake in the insulation just near the plug to the stepper motor wire will look good but it is broken inside

Posted: Wed, 13 Aug 2014 3:59 +0000Ok the fault came up 1251 intermittent on my mechanics scanner. Do I now ask toyota to run a test on the stepper turbo set up? Any advise would be great I feel like I have made progress but still so far away from success.
