Hi guys,

been a while since I've posted anything I've just been reading whats been coming through from ARB and found they are doing fridge slides for their ARB fridges now. Has anyone tried or know anyone that is using these with an Engel Fridge. They say they are built specifically for the ARB fridge but can't see why they wouldn't work with the Engel.

The other option which is more expensive is to go with the fridge slide from Platinum 4x4. They look very well built and looks more secure they way they attach to the fridge.

Personally, (unless you wanted a drop fridge slide), i'd be making my own and using Computer File Server 19" rack mount rails.. they are rated for like 100kgs and you can pick em up for next to nothing on ebay.. then just put a tray between them and you're done..

we've got the platinum one on top of tradie height drawers - works well but keep in mind it takes up a bit of space even when its empty...

Was looking at your build baker which reignited the idea of changing my standard engel one to a drop slide. Takes up abit of room like u said but if I went camping I would jam everything into my camper trailer.

Haha, have you opted for the step ladder method instead :D
I have had a look online and all the 100kg + rated slide rails are $200 for a set, but then you need to buy all the other sheet steel to put it together. From what I can find so it works out to be an expensive task
I rang ARB and their 47l fridge slide that will fit my weaco is $290 and it is rated to 150kgs, so I was going to have a look at it and most likely head down this avenue, anyone have experience with the ARB slides good or bad?

I would go this way but I don't have draws or a canopy, and I have talked myself out of spending the money on buying these 2 items as I only plan on keeping the lux another 2 years. so it will be a setup that slides out of the rear passenger door that can be transferred to the next 4wd :) should have done all this 4years ago when I first got a hold of it

Dunn and Watson on ebay do some cheap but quality fridge slides. They also sell the roller slides to make your own. I just brought their last advertised 47lt fridge slide for $220

I have been using 1 of these for a few years and I don't have a canopy, but I do remove when I'm not using on rolux and install in the shed.

$159 incl. ship is pretty good value

What I would like to know is how to have drop slide without draws, the travel is so far across the tail gate !!!
