Dash lights flickering

Hi

I have an 05 model sr5 dual cab hilux and have started noticeing every now and then the Dash lights flicker a little bit. has anyone had this problem and know what it could be?
I did a search but couldnt find anything on it.

My 07 does it occasionally and if you give the light dimmer knob thats down near the mirror controls a couple of quick twists it seems to fix it, my guess is its some connection in the dimmer switch .

Thanks Tonym, I was going to take mine to my mechanic in the morning as mine has been doing for about 3 weeks now.

I'll give that a go in the morning.

Yeh mines done it since new 06. No answer to what will fix it. Toyota had no idea and could not notice it in the day time.

i have had the same a few times now, i tought it was my eyes playing tricks on me
i will be watching this with intrest

I have had this happen twice, for about 1 or 2 seconds each time.
I Have never bothered looking for a cause.

I have a 2005 Sr5.

ok its good to know im not the only one with this happening, have twisted the dimmer when it happens but then sometimes a few minutes later it will start flickering again.

I know this probably isn't related to the thread, but you guys seem to know much about the luxes, pardon me if this is a silly question. My dash is working fine but the lights are too dim, they don't have a dimmer but maybe you could give me any ideas in order to change the lights for brighter ones or something. Thank you

Ive noticed this on my 09 Lux,only recently after ive installed my new stereo.

Im guessing its because ive spliced into an original wire to run power to my set top box for the tv.

Might try using another wire and see if i still get the flickering lights.

Guys, I'm wondering if this is because of the light sensor on the top of the dash? I noticed if I drive under a shady tree or into a tunnel the dash lights go dim so I put the lights up to a higher brightness and don't notice it as much. The sensor can be turned to reduce sensitivity I'm told by someone here.

Yep this works a treat for me. Does it occasionally and I just have a play around with it and no dramas after that

May have been covered already but have you checked your battery terminals and leads
