If you have any luck please post it here, I am also chasing one as just bought a 2005 that doesn't work with scan gauge 2 - maybe we can get 2 for a discount.
I am going to try/use Techstream for now but it would be great to have something small and portable like normal people..

After talking to the OBD2 guys linked above the trick that gets the early prado’s working with obd2 scan tools won’t work for us.
Our protocol is M-OBD AND IS Toyota/Lexus only.
I’ll keep searching.

Great work mate! I ended up getting a Techstream cable from OBD2 shop but haven't had a chance to test it out yet. Will definitely get a smart gauge though.
