Smart Gauge for 2005/2006 Hilux

General discussion of basically anything Hilux related

Just to let all know, my Smart Gauge is still working after 2.5 years and my only issue to date is the quality of the LCD display.

Mine was exposed to the sun all the time as it is mounted near the digital clock and the display goes dark when it has been exposed to the sun too long.

I now cover it with a cloth to prevent it from being exposed to the sun but the LCD display is slightly damaged but still very much readable.

So, if you mount it near the steering where it covers the odometer it should be much better as it will not be exposed to the heat.
Cheers

I just tried to order one and they replied that the Smartgauge was not made anymore and directed me to this,

Has anyone got or tried one of these on a 2005 D4D.
Thanks,
Geoff

Hasn't had any posts for some time.
I'm after an obd gauge that reads what majority of the do but really like it to be able to read my automatic transmission temp.
Is there one out there that will do this for me.
I'm looking a getting a pillar pod but I would rather have as much as I can display in this gadget.
Cheers, Stuart

Looks like it only does the petrol vigo. 2.7. Does not state the d4d.

Yeah wasn't sure if broken english had come into play with advertising, but i think you're right.
Is a real pain that there is nothing out there for the early D4D's.

Can anyone post up the exact eBay link for a smart / scan gauge that is OBD1 compliant. With all the research I've done, I can't seem to find any tool that will work on my Feb 06 v6.

Search for monster gauge mate I have one in my 05. Works fine. Haven't worked out how to read codes yet but haven't had it long though. I tried a few before I found one that works.

Just stumbled across this topic, was looking to install a water temp and transmission temp gauge. Already bought the adapter for the radiator hose but it seams the scangauge 2 seams to tick all the boxes plus more for more or less the same money. To read the AT temp I need the this xgauge thing is that included SG2 or do I need to pay extra for that. So is that SG a good alternative to normal gauges?
