Well i've read up what u guys recomend for the v6 so today i went into the place across the road from where i work and they did me up a quote for the following:

2.5" system
Leave factory cats
Remove hump under transfer case
change t joint to a y joint
pacemaker headers
1 high flow mufflers

PRICE: $1190

Now all of this was on my request as old mate wasn't sure what would work, and i learnt this from previous exhaust threads. I just wanted to no if it sounds like a good set up? have i included everything that should be done? and is that price goo or what price should i look for?

Cheers for any help, Max

Seems pretty reasonable as long as its mandrel bent.

2.75" Pipe would be better though, but not all shops have the ability to bend it.

Good luck with it.

The only thing i would add, to be done is Change all the Cats to Hi-Flows, Because your going to a larger diameter pipe mate, the 02 sensors may trip out, so change all the Cats.

I changed all of mine , it had to be done, if my memory is right theres 4 of them.......

I originally only did 2, but we got a 02 sensore fault code, so the other 2 were changed and that sorted out the codes.

FYI the original Cats are designed to work with the standard pipes not the new ones.

Cheers

Marshwa,

Mandrel bent means the pipes have a consistent flow area even at the bends when compared to a normal pipe.

The pipe is bent evenly all along meaning you are getting a constant diameter.

Ahh cheers brendon just read up about it on beudesert site aswell, will need to chase that up, i doubt this shop does it tho.

H20PRF i've read that you changed them and are thrilled with them but, i have also read that its not really need and saves alot of dollars if the stock ones are kept. The exhaust shop also said that they are more then ample alongside a 2.5" exhaust system. If its not to much to ask, would you be able to tell me how much extra it cost you to get the hi flow cats added? pm if you wish.

Cheers guys, Max

I paid all up $1780 or there about for the whole thing from headers-Cats-to the tail pipe, i also fitted a resonator at the rear , just to give it a more smooth sound, as ive said before in another post, my Lux sounds like an XR6 Typhoon Turbo now and i love the sound.

Yes you can keep your originally but ! and i say but here,.............. the originals are designed for the original exhaust not a new one and particularly with headers, there too restrictive and will over heat in certain circunstances.

I use HIt-Tech Exhausts here in Sydney and they have been doiung exhaust for over 30 years in the same premises and they know what they are on about.

Cheers
