Can you fit a EGR blanking plate without removing the cooler

Postby Roj00 on Sat, 06 Apr 2024 9:47 +0000

I have my 7mm hole blanking plate and need to fit it.

Don't really want to remove injector pipes just to fit it. Has anyone been able to slide one in without completely removing the EGR cooler?

I have already cleaned it and I as running the chip tuning EGR module to keep the EGR shut but is has started causing a lot of problems. I now want to try the OZbush system that requires a full blanking plate. That's why I don't want to take it all apart again.

Depending on year model the full blank doesn't suit post 2006 model. You'll get codes. The 7 mm hole plate can be fitted without removing the cooler as long as it has the elongated slotted holes... It goes in between the cooler plumbing and the head port... Nowhere else!
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

I am planning to run the OZbush plug and play system, that works with a complete blanking plate apparently and it has a cool fuel trim function that can increase the L/100. Has anyone on here used one?

Just looked it up
I don't know about uping the amount of fuel you could over fuel it not good for diesel
I would like to see a lot more independent testing before I would try it.( Motor are not cheap)
It is illegal on the road what is the point if you want it for towing. Good bye insurance if they find out

Sounds like they have done plenty of testing, I like that you can turn the fuel down for better fuel economy, not really concerned about turning it up as the motor makes enough power it is a Ute at the end of the day

Yes that's correct but you can't do that when you are idling and Ispend a lot of time doing that in traffic!

I can confirm that you can fit a blanking plate without removing the injector pipes or any of the intake parts.

I am now fully blanked at both ends of of the EGR cooler as my cooler was cracked and no way am i going to spend $1000 for a new one (EGR is the dumbest system ever for a diesel) I spent about $300 on the OZbush plug and play system that works with a blanked EGR system (no fault codes) and in my opinion it's a much better system compared to the Chip Tuning plug and play EGR module. I know because I have now used both. Also OZbush has great after sales service.

So far so good and seeing fuel savings already and a nice power increase.
