Create extra sensors in OBDII apps

Postby xychix on Fri, 20 Oct 2023 3:53 +0000

Hi all I'm using CarScanner (iOS app) and like Torque Pro you can manually add extra PID's

Does anyone have a reference on how i can find those PID's? I do have a laptop with techstream.
For example techstream has:
- DPF buildup
- DPF differential pressure sensor value
- requested boost (requested MAP value)

I'd love to convert these to PID information that I can load in these apps.

what I'm after:
OR a list of these pids
OR a method of getting this information (will post back results here)

Hi xychix,

Your post is has been on for a while and seems no one has offered to help yet.

I will see what I can do, just need info on what year and engine (incl Euro4/5/6 status)/transmission configuration is your Hilux and what are the list of parameters that the CarScanner App needs you to populate for extra/custom gauges?
e.g.
For Scangauge:
TXD:
RXF:
RXD:
MTH:
Name:

For Torque Pro:
Mode/PID:
Long Name:
Short Name:
Minimum Value:
Maximum Value:
Scale factor:
Unit Type:
Equation:
OBD Header:

There is an almost complete list of Scangauge codes for the 150kW Euro5 1GD-FTV and AC60F 6 Speed auto which most should also work on a Hilux on this Pradopoint link https://www.pradopoint.com.au/forum/-15 ... -21-models

If yours is using the same PIDS as the Euro5 1GDs these may work:

DPF buildup (This one is not a standard OBDII code and from reports didn't work on a 1KD Euro5 but give it a go)

Name: PM Accumulation Ratio
Short Name: Soot %
Command: 2138
Header: 7E0
Decode Scheme: Formula
Formula: J*2
Min.Value: 0
Max. Value: 512
Units: %
Notes:
* When PM forced regeneration is necessary, 100% is displayed for PM Accumulation
Ratio.
* If the ratio exceeds 100%, PM forced regeneration will be performed automatically

DPF differential pressure sensor value

Name: DPF Differential Pressure
Short Name: DDP
Command: 017A
Header: 7E0 or 7DF
Decode Scheme: Formula
Formula: ((256 * B) + C) / 100 (twos compliment signed value but not certain how that is specified in App)
Min.Value: -5
Max. Value: 100
Units: kPa
Note: At 3000 rpm (no load), if Catalyst Differential Press is 0.45 or more, the DPF catalyst has
become blocked.

Requested boost (requested MAP value)

Name: Target Boost Pressure
Short Name: TBP
Command: 0170
Header: 7E0 or 7DF
Decode Scheme: Formula
Formula: ((256 * B) + C) / 32
Min.Value: 0
Max. Value: 320
Units: kPa
Notes:
* Inspect while comparing with "MAP".
* With the accelerator fully open, if the actual manifold absolute pressure (MAP) is low
compared to the target booster pressure by at least 20 kPa for 5 sec. or more, a feeling of
a lack of power will occur.
* When the vehicle is driven with the engine speed at 3000 rpm or more and the accelerator
pedal fully depressed, "MAP" is approximately equal to "Target Booster Pressure".
