Landcruise tub fitted to n70 hilux

Postby Symo95 on Sat, 08 Apr 2023 10:21 +0000

Hi, New to the forum. New to owning a n70.

i have always loved the look of of a 79 land cruiser dual cab tub (like the wellbody style) would love to know if anyone has fitted one to a n70 dual cab hilux. I have looked everywhere online and it seems like no one has.
Wondering if thats because it would look like shit because of the landcruiser tub has a boxy shape and the hilux has a curved cab.

Just looking to do something different with my n70 than a standard tray or standard tub.

This is a tub that i have been looking at for reference

G'Day Symo

This is such a gr8 idea and why didn't I think of that moment.

I have a '12 and have drilled a few holes into the tub and have been thinking about a "refresh" now that it is more than 10 years old.

My first idea after reading your was to fit adapter plates but it might make the tub too high !!!

I know its definitely possible, its just wether it would look good or not. And would be great to know if anyone has attempted it, and how much modification was needed to make the wheel arches line up with an n70.
And how it would sit on the sub frame. From some brief measurements its seems like tub width and length is no problem.

If anyone has some photoshop skills would be great to get an idea of how it looks. I can’t really visualise it.

Do some measurements, take a few photos, check out how close it might be.

Sounds good, just keep an eye on overhang and then approach & departure angles.
