Hi Just curious i had a old japan built hilux they were the best compared to the newer ones. My old hilux had about 330km on the clock and i never had to do much to it. This 2012 model has about 220000 on the clock and its one thing after the other. I just changed the upper and lower control arm new bushes etc. I know a bloke who had a holden rodeo with about the same km and he had to do all these things also. This must be a common issue with the independent supension at about 200km. I have done the steering rack, steering pump, alternator, brake hubs, front, cv joint boots. There is a crack in the tappet cover now but this is common also... Not made like the old ones thats for sure... Does anyone else find around the 220000 km you get a lot of issues?

Mines has done 200k only had to replace front break pads. But for piece of mind just replaced injectors, clutch - nothing wrong just did as a midlife maintenance, and 2nd gear syncro was getting a little crunchy so had all syncro and kit done while doing the clutch.

My 07 is in the same its got 210k on it now, it had 180k on it when i got it,it's one thing after another.
I used to be one of those people Toyota never break these Thailand pos are nothing to write home about the first couple of Japanese Toyotas I had were good 81 hilux then 97 prado . I'm sick of spending money on this one I want to get some wheels yet wonder what else Ill need before I put wheels on it. I still like the way it drives.

Yes that is exactly my thoughts also after my experience. It must be more common than we think.
