Lack Of Boost

Right Lads, might be something painfully obvious but just installed my turbo gauge and it’s not working properly (sensor and plumbing is all fine) i’ll only get a reading when my car is overboosting (which happens 1 out of 3 times whenever i start the car for about 5 mins) Runs Rough as guts when When Over-boosting, The car has always been a bit sluggish, if anyone could shed some light it’d be greatly appreciated

Lets start at the basics, Is it stock or tuned?
Have you cleaned the MAP filter and MAF sensor? if not search Is the best place to start.

What year is it and how many KMS.

Hey Mate, No Tune Running 33”s but it is only running 4 psi deleted the map filter and my maf sensor is clean enough to eat off of its a 2011 sr5 with 190kms

Hey Mate, 33s” wouldn’t affect the psi the turbo is running would it? Serviced every 5000kms since i’ve owned it which is 40000kms

Yes 33" tyres would not change turbo output. If this has happened since fitting the boost gauge then look for issues to do with where the bleed takeoff point is. What else did you do at the same time you fitted the boost gauge? Suggest removing the boost gauge and put the plumbing back to OEM and see if it improves. Where did you take the gauge plumbing from?
Why did you delete the map filter??? There's possibly the problem.

was like this well before the boost gauge and my mechanic took it off ages ago but i’ve read it’s better off without it anyways

Why not take it back to the mechanic, it seems he might know a bit more than you do!
