Should fail Ancap rating because of this.

Hi all. Just sold my 2012 SR5 and jumped into a 2021 Cruiser. Got it home and went to install the car seats. The new Hilux doesn’t have a retractable ratchet lock for the seatbelts/use with car seats. Like ever other car in the word since ages ago ( my 2012 had this feature also )

Am I missing something/not doing something right? I’ve read the manual. It does not discuss this feature. How does it get the 5 star ancap?

I would be certain it's you and not the vehicle... Take it back and show the dealer! They don't hand out 5 star ancap in a wheatbix packet! Or in your case they don't give out 5star with a pair of jandles

Nope. Had 6 cars at my house today ( daughters small bday party ) Mazda’s, Toyota’s and Subaru. All have the automatic switch/ratchet for child seats. Very easy to test feature.

Definitely a modern/Hilux issue. Need to test another late hilux to confirm.

As expected yours is the odd one out, ask the dealer to explain it.
