Throttling Issue - Intermittently

Postby Micandhal18 on Thu, 22 Oct 2020 9:01 +0000

Hi Guys,

Had a an issue where the P2121 fault code had come up and car was in limp mode. (throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/ Switch D Circuit)

Reset the fault and now in a positon where the car looses power intermittently while driving.

For example, Taking off at lights the car will struggle to accelerate to speed. you can hear the turbo spooling and then all of a sudden the power will kick in and the car will be fine for a bit. I will maintain a speed of 60km and then you can feel the power drop in the car. I will then accelerate more and once again turbo will start spooling, little to no power and then it will kick in. At some points the car will struggle to Accelerate over 80km.

- I dont have a throttle controller (idrive)
- No after market cruise control (just standard factory cruise)

I have checked for boost leaks, cleaned the MAP sensor, MAF sensor , checked the accelerator pedal connection, pulled it apart and cleaned all the dust internally.

I have searched the forum for the fault code but haven't seen had much luck.

Thanks

Its rare problem that has never really been resolved eg: viewtopic.php?f=81&t=28241

Has you lux been underwater? The TPS might be the problem but I really dont know. I imagine a TPS would be cheap from a wrecker

Nah car has never been under water. Yeah I was thinking that as well. Just a pain not being able to work out what's going on haha

So the car has no fault codes popping up at all however the hesitation is still there.

it roughly hesitates from 1500-2000RPM through each gear. as soon as it hit above the rev range the car drive normal.
