V8 Selection?

Gypsy made me think of something (below).
Has anyone done a "small" V8 conversion? I'm just planning ahead, the 2004 diesel has only 320000km on it, so it'll be a while before I need to worry, but I was thinking about a 307 Chev (or smaller???) and put it on gas. Just wondering how hard it'll be to actually fit into the engine bay? Any ideas, thoughts or comments? Not looking for a super-car, just something that'll go up the hills a bit better than the naturally aspirated diesel while maintaining a modicum of fuel economy.

Engine can probably take it but you're trying to push more air into a two valve head! It can only breathe so much volume no matter how much boost. If you're trying for more power maybe transplant a 3.8 litre petrol engine or a 5.0litre V8.
